The show has a long-standing policy of not commenting on The Stig's identity. A "Top Gear" spokeswoman said no decision has been made on whether the character will be back when the show returns.

"Top Gear" is one of the BBC's most successful programs, and is seen in more than 100 countries around the world. Alongside the show's three garrulous hosts, The Stig is an always-silent presence, fearlessly navigating the show's test track in glamorous cars.

Speculation over his identity is a favorite pastime for fans of the show, and the "Top Gear" website sells T-shirts proclaiming "I am The Stig," "I am not The Stig," and "I am The Stig's fat cousin," among others.

"The whole point of The Stig is the mystique — the bizarre characteristics he has, the wonderment created about what he might think, feel, do or look like," producer Andy Wilman said in a post on the show's website. "Kids adore the conceit, and I believe adults, although they know it's a man in a suit (or is it?) gladly buy into the whole conceit because they find it entertaining."

The Stig's Facebook page — which more than 2.5 million people "like" — says he was recently attacked by a goose, that his ears "are not where you would expect them to be," and that he thinks the movie "Star Wars" is a documentary.

The BBC said it sought the injunction — the hearing was held in private — because viewers like the mystery surrounding the driver's identity and it's "vital to protect the character of The Stig."

The broadcaster said that the judgment does not prevent them from taking the issue further in the courts.

'The BBC will not be deterred from protecting such information from attack no matter when or by whom it should arise," the broadcaster said in a statement.

Collins' website says he has raced on the Formula Three and NASCAR circuits, and drove James Bond's Aston Martin in the 2008 film "Quantum of Solace."

I've bought light weight rims
got rid of a bunch of junk in the trunk
run max psi in the wheels (if it's rated for 42psi I ran it at 40psi)
common sense maintenance and a de-cat and low resistance air filter

my only sin is running cleaner running but more viscous diesel engine oil

and I'm stuck @ 220 per 9 gallons of gas premium edit: *best case scenario in highway... city running is 180~190*

which translates to some nice 24.5 mpg of running.

but since this board is pretty slow lately I'll put some crazy ass shit so you guys can shoot me down
and we all get a laugh...

(even if secretly I wanna do it cause it would be cool)

Cliffs:
got the starter from orileys
removed old starter
compared old+new, almost same but connections were facing engine block instead of radiator BUT holes seemed to line up
-since I feared plastic connector would melt/break due to being within less than an inch of the engine block, I decided to return and look for one exactly same as mine.
went to autozone, manager found out 85-87 models have same starter *from pic* but not available til 6pm
went to orielys to return part and order 85-87 starter that looked same as mine *from pic* available at 3pm WOOT!
went back to orielys to find out that starter is diff from pic.
picked up autozone starter w/c was exactly the same as original starter
another autozone customer jinxed me saying it took him 5 tries to get a starter that works from autozone w/ no luck
went home, installed new starter, no working. I hammered, it worked. Turned off, turned back on, no work. Hammered again, it worked...

Now, the old starter is back in the car and it started on the first try. :facepalm: Started it 5 times more and it's fine. It usually is for a day or so til I have to hammer it again... I already asked my uncle who works at toyota to get me a quote for a starter. Hopefully that works out...

After a total of about 3 hours of working on the car, I've accomplished absolutely NOTHING, NADA, ZERO, ZIT. BUT what's weird is that I still enjoyed every second of working on the car. I'm frustrated because of the wrong/useless parts HELL YES! but I felt good when I had tools on my hands, on my back, have gloves on etc. etc. Although, I guess I learned how to remove and install the starter...

Did I make a crucial mistake of not going to school for auto tech/mechanical engineering? I wonder if I would still enjoy doing this if I had to do it everyday.

Toyota said that there are three unconfirmed accidents that are allegedly related to the condition, and one of them has resulted in a minor injury.

The auotmaker will notify owners when parts to replace the Engine Control Modules are available. Toyota will complete the repair at no charge. Owners who have already paid for the replacement of the Engine Control Module to address this problem can get reimbursed.

"This recall is an example of our commitment to standing by our products and being responsive to our customers," said Toyota's chief quality officer Steve St. Angelo in a statement. "Our goals is to help ensure that Toyota drivers are completely confident in the safety and reliability of their vehicles."

Last month, Toyota recalled more than 400,000 older-model vehicles for a steering problem.

The company has been undertaking a massive effort to rebuild its image in the wake of a number of quality and safety problems that came to light earlier this year. In recent months, the automaker has recalled more than 8 million vehicles worldwide for a variety of safety issues, including possible unintended acceleration and problems with anti-lock brake software.

Shares of Toyota Motors (TM), which have slipped more than 18% this year, were down 0.1% in late afternoon trading.
